UC Santa Barbara Summit on Energy Efficiency

Since its inception, the Institute has hosted a feature conference that brings together local, national and international industry leaders, renowned thinkers and technology experts in energy efficiency. 

The Summit convenes 300+ attendees, with session topics ranging from individual technology breakthroughs to commercialization and emerging industry trends.  In addition to educating participants on recent developments in the field and promoting cross-industry dialogue and exchange, the Summit’s overarching goal is to focus on the next frontiers in the science and technology of energy efficiency and energy sustainability.

Our prominent list of presenters has included: Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Energy '09-'13; Michael McQuade, Senior VP for Science & Technology, United Technology Corporation; George Crabtree, Director, JCESR, Argonne National Laboratory; Matt Rogers, Director at McKinsey & Company; Jeff Henley, Chairman of Oracle Corporation; Richard Newell, Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration; and guest speakers from Tesla Motors, Google, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Intel, and Microsoft, among many others.
